Total estimated processing time: 4-6 years based on current processing times

Common for both AOS & CP paths
  • Standard processing: 16 months
  • If audited: Additional 9 months

I-140 Immigrant Petition
Required for both paths
  • Regular processing: 6-12 months
  • Premium processing: 15 calendar days
  • If RFE issued: +2-4 months (regular) or +15 days (premium)

Adjustment of Status (AOS) Path
  • I-485 Application: 10-12 months
  • I-765 Work Authorization: 2-5 months
  • I-131 Travel Document: 5-10 months
  • Green Card Interview at local USCIS office

Consular Processing (CP) Path
  • DS-260 Application: 2-4 months
  • Visa Interview at U.S. consulate/embassy
  • Travel to U.S. and receive green card upon entry
